How do you check my insurance?

We check the treatment codes we typically bill for the needed therapy and proceed from the coverage information that that is offered online to us as providers. We are frequently not provided with the insurance coverage booklet for your specific plan, so we can only go from the information that is given to us as providers. However, as insurance companies routinely tell customers, what they show us is not a guarantee of coverage or payment. Sometimes there can be specific exclusions that are not communicated to us as providers. Examples of these could be only covering an accident/illness or congenital anomaly, requiring authorization after a certain number of visits even after showing initially that no authorization was needed, and not applying to your deductible as initially stated.

We always recommend that you call your member services department listed on your insurance card to double check your coverage, as in the end you will be responsible.

Where can I find my bill?

We mail you a printed statement and post your invoice in our secure patient portal once a month. When you begin as a patient at Premier, you are emailed the instructions to set up set up patient portal. If you missed this email, just contact us and we can send you your personalized set up instructions and reset your password if needed.

How do I make payments?

1. A preferred payment method must be provided upon intake. You may provide this information on your intake forms or call the clinic, if you prefer, to provide it over the phone.

2.  You will have the opportunity to call the office with an alternate payment method between the 1st and 14th of each month.

3.  You can send a check but it must arrive to us by the 15th of the month. We don’t typically recommend paying by check since mail can be unpredictable (lost, stolen, etc.)

3.  You may let your payment process automatically using your preferred payment method on-file.  These payments will be processed on or after the 15th. The amount charged will be the amount of your most recent invoice only.

When can I expect to be charged?

After your therapist completes the documentation for your child’s session, we send it off to insurance. Insurance typically takes 2-4 weeks (and sometimes longer) to process claims. Once we get that back, we can then create an invoice. Sometimes insurance makes errors which require us to follow up with them, which would then take longer to reflect on your statement.

Currently, we do not offer online bill pay. We will charge your preferred card that you’ve provided to us on or shortly after the 15thof the month. Many times the statement will reflect the previous month’s sessions given the time it takes for documentation and billing through insurance to be completed. Your invoice will include charges that are your responsibility for each visit after we receive payment from your insurance company or we receive an EOB (explanation of benefits) stating the services were applied to your deductible, or not covered. After the first statement, you should receive a statement monthly.

How can I update my credit card/payment info?

Just call us and the admin staff would be happy to help.

What happens if there’s a billing issue?

We will call your insurance two times to attempt to resolve any issues. After we’ve been denied for the third time, we will bill you for the visit and allow you to resolve any remaining issues directly with your insurance company. If we later receive payment from your insurance company, we will issue you a refund within five business days from receipt of payment.

Can I submit to my insurance myself?

Yes! Just ask us for the billing codes we use. We do not provide “super bills.”
